Russell Bradford (pictured) is the contracted drover working for Hollybond Pastoral Co, the owner of the cattle.  There is approximately 800 head of cattle plus calves in the Mob.  The cattle were trucked into Walgett last November from the Barkley Tablelands, Property “Ellroy”.  The cattle consist mainly of the Brahman Bos Indicus blood line.

Russell comments that the cattle have not grazed green feed for nearly 12 months.  The cattle are in remarkably good condition, very content and showing little signs of stress.  This is a testamonent to Russell Bradford’s excellent cattle handling skills and why he is regarded in the country as one of the best in his field.

Speaking with Russell on the day, Russell also points out how impressed he is with a cattle mineral supplement called “Rumenworks-CDL”, he has been putting in the water for the last 4 months.  Where cattle cannot drink from the river or dams, Russell waters cattle from the water tanker pictured.  This system allows Russell to medicate the water with the product Rumenworks-CDL.

Russell comments that the mob of cattle have come through one of the hottest and driest summers he has experienced for a long time.  He is very happy with the way cattle are utilizing the dry feed on hand with the help of Rumenworks-CDL.  Russell says their manure is like they are on fresher better quality feed. 

It is important to remember that with CDL you are not feeding the cow, but rather the bugs inside the rumen.  The rumen bacteria are the digestive agents which break down dry feed into simple sugars (energy) so that it can be absorbed by the cow.  By energizing and increasing the efficiency of the bacterial population within the rumen you enhance digestion, improve dry feed utilization and dry matter intake (DMI)

Russell says that Rumenworks CDL is so safe and easy to use.  We have our horses drinking from the same medicated water that the cattle are drinking. (The horses by the way are really benefiting form the Rumenworks-CDL says Russell).  Russell says he has tried many different products over the last 10 years to assist cattle on dry feed and there is nothing that has worked as fast and effective as Rumenworks CDL.
